SyncThermology Goes Western!

SyncThermology entered a new market in August this year as Georgina our Lancs Technician introduced the company to the Western Equestrian Society at their National Championships. Georgina, who is also the Lancashire representative for the W.E.S was competing at the event, so accompanied by our Cheshire Technician Rachel they made the journey south on Thursday 21st August to attend the event with our information stand.

Thursday involved getting Georgina’s Quarter Horse, Red settled into the stables then setting up our stand amongst some of the most renowned western saddlers and apparel retailers in the Western industry.

Friday morning saw Georgina, her husband Bill and Rachel up at the crack of dawn to prepare the stand after torrential rain and gusty winds the night before. Georgina then proceeded to get ready to compete in the first class with Red. Sadly it wasn’t meant to be and a huge disappointment for her when Red pulled up lame and the competition riding wise was over for her.  However, every cloud has a silver lining, and Red then took centre stage for a screening demonstration before a fantastic group of eager potential clients, including an equine dentist and the passers-by who struggled to just well…pass by, all keen to learn more about our technology and the service we offer!

Saturday brought much of the same hype and interest into our specialist screening and it became very clear people who had seen the previous day’s demonstration had been spreading the word. Saturday afternoon saw Georgina and Rachel deliver another demonstration using a horse called Levi, belonging to Kim Collier, who had won the Amateur Hi-Point prize of a free regional scan at the W.E.S Northern Show 2014 after the class was kindly sponsored by Georgina.  Again, there was a fabulous turnout of spectators as we completed the screening and provided a more in depth look at our service. The working day came to a close with a bit of spectating in the indoor arena for an emerald spectacle called Green Pleasure in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care. The imagination and creativity was amazing as you will see in the accompanying photos. Courtesy of Shrek, Princess Fiona and Donkey to name but a few, the laughter was loud…and so were the costumes!

Sunday, although the day for packing away included a meeting with leading western trainer Michael Langford who is eager to incorporate our service into the wellbeing programme of his up and coming horses.  We are currently in discussions with Michael and very much looking at establishing the first western sponsorship for SyncThermology, adding to our present sponsored riders Billy Twomey and Anthony Condon, who currently utilise our service as part of their proactive and preventative management regime.

We were delighted with the response to our stand over the course of the weekend, not only with the volume of visitors but also the variety of interest regarding different conditions and potential uses for the technology including the medical advantages provided by our sister company SyncMedical.  We’d like to say a big thank-you to the Western Equestrian Society for the warm welcome and the opportunity to share our service with its members.
